Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Meal Packing Service Project

Dear ZAGBA Community,

It’s that time of the year, where ZAGBA joins forces with the Harvard Chaplains and works side by side with religious and non-religious communities to pack thousands of meal boxes for the Interfaith Thanksgiving Meal-Packing Service Project.  Our own ZAGBA member, Daryush Mehta, who is the Zoroastrian Chaplain at Harvard is one of the leads for this Project and is also leading this project for ZAGBA.  30,000 meals will be packed and distributed to local charities through the EndHungerNE Outreach Program.
About 10% of Massachusetts households struggle to provide food for their families. Hence please volunteer/donate for this very noble cause.

Date: Sunday, November 12th, 2017

Time: 12:00pm – 5:00pm (see below for ZAGBA’s shifts)

Where: Atrium at 50 Church Street, Cambridge, MA 02138

Please read the instructions below on how to sign up to volunteer and donate online, if you wish to do so. It is very important that you sign-up, if you intend to volunteer and please reference that you are representing: “ZAGBA GROUP”.

  • September 16-NY’s Dar-e-Mehr Trip: On popular demand, we are again organizing a trip to NY’s Dar-e-Mehr.  The Evite will be going out in August. We will be taking this trip by bus and for those who want to travel by their car, can meet the ZAGBA group straight at the Dar-e-Mehr. ZAGBA has already booked a bus again for this year and as most of you know from last year’s trip, the seats on the bus are limited to approx. 50-52 seats.  So reservations will be strictly on first come basis (no favors), and hence with respect to your responses, please make sure you RSVP straight on the Evite in a timely manner.  Sending your RSVP to ZAGBA by email or telling a board member will not be counted as an RSVP. It has to be on the Evite. Families with young kids, please note that if coming by bus, this trip is only for kids 4 years and above.
Only a confirmed RSVP along with your check mailed by the set deadline to the treasurer, will finalize your place on the bus.
Please lookout for more details in the Evite, when sent.

WZCC-NY PRESENTS AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM FOR YOUTH

WZCC PRESENTS

AN ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM
FOR YOUTH 5 – 18 YEARS BY

SPARK BUSINESS ACADEMY

WZCC–New York (NY) Chapter is pleased to announce its new initiative to bring Spark Business Academy to our Dar-e-Mehr and introduce our youth to the concept of entrepreneurship through a three-day program in financial education. WZCC-NY Chapter is the first Chapter to offer such an innovative program. Success here will allow WZCC to spread the initiative to other Chapters around the globe for the benefit of our youth.

Entrepreneurship is not taught in school, although children as young as 5 years engage in enterprising efforts like selling girl-scout cookies or setting up a lemonade stand, making it critical to develop financial literacy in our youth from an early age. Spark Business Academy does just that through their programs and activities tailored for different age groups starting at 5-9 years old.

Spark Business Academy (www.sparkbusinessacademy.com) will present a three-day program at our Dar-e-Mehr this summer from July 10-12.

To learn more about the program, curriculum and costs, please download the Sparks Brochure

Parents are welcome to attend, so long as their presence will not be a distraction for their child. Lunch and snacks will be provided, courtesy of WZCC-NY Chapter.

To encourage enrollment WZCC–NY Chapter shall reimburse an incentive of $100 each for the first 10 registrants, so HURRY AND REGISTER! For more information / questions, please contact Edul Daver at eduldaver@gmail.com/phone (908)756-5649; or contact a WZCC member at the May 7th religion class at our Dar-e-Mehr.

To sign up for this interesting program, please register no later than MAY 15, 2017 by downloading and completing the enrollment form and mailing your check, made out to Spark Business Academy, in the amount of $575* per child to,
